Having enjoyed owning and raising axolotl, I was recently given the chance to raise some Triturus marmoratus eggs.
I received these the start of May and kept them in an outdoor container with pond weed . A few nights ago I was about to do a water change and feed, when I noticed a little escapee making a dash for freedom up the side of the container.
The escapee has now been moved to a more secure container, with damp kitchen paper, some plant and a piece of broken clay plant pot. Hopefully it'll be joined soon by its 4 somewhat slower siblings.
