oh ya i added another gallon of water and a thermometer, there will soon be more elodea too (i cut the new shoots and plant them, the shortest ones are new, these plants grow so fast)

Something about the way the plants are positioned looks very Dr. Seuss.

how do you have those plants grow when i get them they just come out of the gravel and rot help me

It seems like everyone is having this problem. I don't really know how I did it, I just put them in the tank (average tank temp of 65-70 in the summer and 50-60 in the winter) and had them on a 12 hour light cycle.

By the way, they aren't rooted any more. They are a large floating mass at the top of the tank. They block out a lot of light which is good for the mudpuppy. Also, they have grown A LOT more.

Plant anchors and or a sandy type FINE substrate for its roots. Its a good plant for letting float to. I had it float and then root to the substrate eventually many times before. This plant can be very prolific!
