So a week ago I realised that my fire belly newt was missing. I searched pretty much everywhere in the house, under every piece of furniture and every room. After not finding it I gave up. But yesterday I tought of someting. Maybe my fire belly newt died and my hong kong newt ate de corpse (Paramesotriton hongkongensi). So is it possible?

It is very possible that the warty newt ate it, alive or dead, they're known to be an aggressive specie.
They shouldn't be housed together either, in addition to aggression, both would be wild caught and the risk of exchange of pathogens and disease would be very high.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
