Here are a few pics of some sub-adult Necturus maculosus in 10 gallon tanks.

How large are the animals? 10 gallon seems very small to me for multiple animals. I've had fighting in a 75 gallon tank with two 12 inch adults, and while I'm sure that with better tank design this could be avoided, I don't really think that two larger animals in a ten gallon tank would be a very safe arrangement.

These animals were on display at an educational reptile show. I am not sure what size tank they normally have, but I was told that their normal tank is much bigger-just not feasable to bring to a show.

I should also add that the animal in the first tank was solely collected to display at the show and release immediately after, as it was part of a "Reptiles and Amphibians" of Illinois, along with several salamanders, frogs, snakes, and turtles.
