Need advice.

If this is in the wrong place, let me know. I wasn't sure where it'd go.

So, I'm staying with my grandma now, and she has a pool in her backyard, a pool that constantly has chlorine in it.

There are also green tree frogs in it. I took wildlife in college, so I know how bad chlorine is for any amphibian, so I wondered why they were even in it night after night. They even lay their eggs in it and there are tadpoles in it every day.

The chlorine is /killing them/. The tadpoles are getting sick and the frogs that keep coming back every single night are getting sick. I just found one that was very near death, took it out of the pool and put it on the ground near the pond. I'm not even sure if it'll make it.

My question is /is there any way to keep frogs out of the poo/ without putting the cover on it, because she doesn't actually /have/ a cover big enough and she wouldn't care too much to put it on there if she had one. It's upsetting to me that all these frogs are going to die for no reason other than they're too stupid to stay out of water that is slowly poisoning them.

Tell her to switch from chlorine to salt water. It's not completely harmless, but it's a lot less deadly than chlorine, for critters and people.

You could call your local Fish, Wildlife, and Parks (if you have them) or wildlife management and they may be able to safely relocate them. You could try find one of those large industrial waterproof tarps (used for haystacks, ect.) to cover the swimming pool. I'm not sure how much they would cost but we use them on our ranch and they could cover at least 500 square feet and are available at most ranch/farm supply stores.
