need help. I noticed my axolotl was tipping about a week ago. i put him in the fridge for a while. for a while he seemed to be ok, except now he has fungus growing all over his body. I'm not sure what to do for him. the pet shop owner I talked to gave me a fungus cure (aqua master fungus cure) except it says on the front that the fungus cure is for fish. Does this matter?. and there is there a way I can try to treat him without it?

i have two with fungus @ the moment and treating them with salt baths twice a day, 2 teaspoons of salt per 1Lt of dechlorinated water for 10 mins @ a time this is a proven method to get rid of fungus with out using chemicals which can be very bad for axies.
it seems to be working on mine

Hey Holly,
Salt baths will deal with the fungus.
Im not sure about that product they suggested though.
If i were you, id start salt bathing asap. At least to prevent the fungus from spreading.
There are many threads here dedicated to fungus and the treatment of. If you have any problem with the salt bathing, there are many helpful people of this forum that can help you further.
Good luck!

The weather was very hot here for quite a few days and my axolotl (Marvin) got very stressed and started floating. I have been keeping the tank cool with ice bricks )the type you use in eskys)He now looks healthy and active and is eating well but appears to have a little fungus (white patchy stuff) on his back. Is it absolutely necessary to treat it or will it clear up by itself if tank conditions are right?
I hate to disturb him, having seen him stressed last week. I would rather avoid salt baths unless necessary. I wondered if the stuff on his back was just the resul of floating right on the surface for a couple of days.
