i currently have 1 wildtype in a 3 foot tank the tank has loads of hiding places but i was thinking of getting an albino axie will it be ok to put it with my axie or will they fight because my wildtype is about 6 inches and the albino that i might be geting is only about 3 inches

People say different things, i know of some axies that have been aggressive towards smaller axies, but then you have Mik that has Moonpie.. s/he is is fairly small and is in with adults, and everything has gone fine for him.

But what ever you do you need to quarantine the new one for i believe is around 60days most people say. This is so that the current one you have does not get infected by anything your new one maybe carrying.

At those sizes you might be ok but y not get your albino and keep separate for a time. I have put 2No. 6" with a 3" and all survived without injury. In fact they re all getting to a good size now.
Choice is yours but keep an eye out if you put them together.

so do i keep him on his own for 60 days so that there is no infection or is that not needed

Yes ideally you keep them separte for 1-2 weeks, but 60days wouldnt harm, this ensures the new axie does not infect your current one.

But if and when you introduce your new axie, because of the size keep a close eye on them from nipped, aggresivness and any other strange signs.

one other thing i heard storyies of axies having there legs and gills bit of is that when they are fighting because i don't like the sound of that

young axies can scrap or if there are too many in a tank they'll take a nip at each other. But your tank sounds fine for 2 such small sxies.

Quarantine is a very good practice plus if your they'll both have a chance to grow a bit more.

Good luck with them Carl

yeah stoopid machine at work is so slow that i get impatient and press again.

60 days of quarantine would probably be enough for the 3 incher to catch up growth wise any way.

Carl, i have two three inch youngsters in with two large adults and they're fine. The only time i have axies nibble each other is when they're babies, but a quarentine period and keeping a close eye on them is always a good idea!
