New Axolotl owner

Hello I have a juvenile axolotl that I just introduced into an aquarium that was been circulating for about three weeks. I am very worried about him because he is flapping his gills over and over again. I cannot tell if this is just stress related or if the water parameters are incorrect. He is not swimming franticly and has been sitting in the same spot for serval hours. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you.

That sounds like normal behavior. They sit in the same spot a lot. Gill flapping is just to circulate the water around their gills. I'd be more worried if it was swimming around a lot.
