My boyfriend and I bought two juvenile axolotls (~2 months old) on Sunday (4/2) neither of them have eaten since. We've tried the pellets the breeders gave us, blood worms, and brine shrimp. We were told they had been transitioned to the pellets from the blood worms, but they don't seem to want either. The first day one was showing stress signs (forward gills and curled tail) and haven't shown any since. They also both lost most of their frills on their gills within the first night.
We were originally not going to get any that day since our 55 gallon wasn't quite finished cycling. We were told by the breeders that they would be fine with daily water changes but they don't seem to be.
The parameters in the 55 when tested were .5ppm ammonia, 0ppm nitrates, and 5-10ppm nitrates and then I did a 50% water change.
