New book on keeping and breeding newts and salamanders

thanks for the comments! Caleb: indeed these were points we also thought of. In the end it was mainly the tight time schedule (we put ourselves on) that left these issues. Concerning Lyciasalamandra we liked to show the variety and the fact that on their ecology so little is known that it would be highly interesting to study them in captivity by serious keepers, perhaps even in a joint venture with a zoo. It would be nice if there was at least one zoo in this world who would show more devotion to salamanders and newts.

keep the reactions coming! :)

About the only one that does is Toledo Zoo, in Ohio USA. They have a large and very nice behind the scenes breeding area. Their sal keeper is on this forum.
