Question: New Fire Salamander Not Eating Much

Hi, I'm Greg from the UK and this is my first post.

Just over three weeks ago I got a sub-adult fire salamander named Boba.

Since then Boba hasn't eaten very much (~4 crickets and ~2 hoppers to this day) and I'm getting a little worried.

The tank is big enough and contains a water bowl and a hide.

The temperature is an average of 15oC and the humidity is virtually always 75%.

I've tried feeding Boba crickets, hoppers, and calci-worms, and I've currently got some earthworms on order.

Does anyone have any advice??

when I first got my fire salamander there was a point at the beginning where it wouldn't eat much either and i was worried. After a few weeks in his new habitat he slowly started to turn around and now hes a fatty. The good thing is that he has eaten..sometimes you just need to let them get used to their new habitat. He might be stressed out and that might be one of the issues. Hows his movement does he look healthy and alert?

Cheers velasco13000, in terms of movement Boba pretty much stays in his hide until its dark. While I'm in the room he just pops his head out. I sometimes catch him in the morning, but he 'quickly' crawls back into his hide....is this bad????

Hello No thats fine. He should be fine just give him some time to get used to his new habitat. Try not to bother him too much. The less stress the better. Any pictures of this guy? I would love to see him. And his habitat too
