New Member With First Axolotl

Hi Everyone,

I have been lurking around this forum for a while now reading up on Axolotls. I have to thank all the members here because any questions I had while researching I was able to find answers to by searching this forum, so thank you everyone :happy:

Two weeks ago I got my first axolotl and I am totally in love. He is a leucistic and his name is Po. When I got him he had no back legs, just little bumps and I am amazed at how much his legs have grown in the past two weeks. I can even see his little toes starting to form. Overall Po seems happy and healthy, but my only concern is his size. He is 8 months old and only just 3 inches long. From what I have read searching the forum it seems he should be bigger at 8 months, is it likely he will catch up? He was really thin and is now starting to fill out more which is nice to see. Overall I am completely in love with little Po and I am happy to have this forum to help me with my first axolotl.

He looks gorgeous....lovely set up.....he's lucky to have found you.If he had a poor start in life he may never grow to a huge length.....but little is cute!
His back legs may always remain "different" but he will manage

Ohh he's adorable! I have a leucistic myself named Juan, however I actually think is female. Not sure how old but we're told s/he was 2 months old. Personally I think older. I'm also new to axolotl parenting so nice to meet Po! So adorable. Meet Juan

Thanks charleybambino. You're right, little is cute, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see how he continues to grow.

Danilugosi- Juan is so adorable, and I love his name. I have no idea if Po is male or female, but he seems like a boy to me. I'm glad to see there is another new owner out there :happy:
