I got 5 beautiful o_Ophryticus juveniles a couple days ago. They are about 4 cm long, and eating pieces of earthworm. I expected them to be more tricky but they are eating quite well. I´m keeping them in a 12 L plastic tank with 4cm of soil, one side is dry(totally dry, don´t know if this is too much) and the other side is slightly wet. They all gather under a piece of moss, which is the most humid part, so i guess i´ll increase a bit the humidity in the rest of the tank. I´ve noticed they can change the intensity of their colours...from very pale brown to a dark chocolatey one. Is this just normal??? Any idea if it´s related with temperature, humidity, etc?
Can´t believe i now have my three favourites...marbleds, dobros and banded newts....
It´s going to be a long fall though...with 5 little bandeds, a little cynops and several cynops eggs on their way....i just hope my dobros take it easy....
