New T. shanjing setup (pics)

I just set this up today. I was having problems with humidity control in the one i built, so i scrapped it.

any comments or suggestions?
 
Beautiful! Its just me, but I would replace that variegated leafed plant with something with very small leaves or perhaps add duckweed to the water section.
 
The setup looks great! and your newts look really well fed!

How many do you have in that tank?
 
I've been using that plant for the past 6 months with no problems. I for get the name of them but i got them from the LFS who was selling them as an aquatic plant, but they work great in the boggy setup.

I may drop some duckweed in there too, but there arnt very powerful lights on this tank either so i dont know how well duckweed would survive.
 
Great setup!Btw how many gallons is it and how many newts do you have in there?

Isn't this setup rather prone to get humidity problems as well - the soil will soak up the water and never be dry.
Otherwise it looks great, including the newts.
 
I think Ira may have deleted the pictures that the links were from. Maybe to make space for more pictures
