Hello,
I am a 40 year-old married mother of two young children with autism...and a student. Phew!
I have been fascinated with axolotls for about a decade now. There is an old hippy dude who owns a fish store way on the other end of town from us. He has two breeding pair and occasionally we'd drive all the way over there just to see them. I finally broke down and bought the last juvie axie he had for sale about two weeks ago.
Our new axie is white with little black button eyes. We call him/her Little Foot. We'd like to get him/her a tank mate if one comes available. Hoping for one in black.
So far we have been keeping him in a fish bowl and just invested in a 20g long set up for him. Was trying to figure out where to go from here, but them Little Foot fell ill! Yesterday I took him in his fish bowl to the old hippy dude, who is quite endearing, yet very eccentric and hard of hearing, so unfortunately, I am not entirely sure what magic potion drops he put in my axie's water. S/he seems a little better, but still critical, however, that's another post.
In addition to our new axolotl, we have two African dwarf frogs in one tank, many different varieties of bettas, and a tank with miscellaneous freshwater tropical fish.
Thanks for making me a part of your group!
