Hi guys new too owning axies but absolutely love them and learning so any advice is hugely appreciated I have 4 three golden Albino and one lugestic he is the baby of the family still trying to work out if I'm over doing it with stressing about my water parameters I'm using prime and stability daily with 20% water changes dropping ice blocks in cause it's so hot here in Perth got two fans going and I'm doing my filter hoses throu a fridge to try cool it down and I'm struggling to keep them under 19 it's killing me not having there water right please tell me they will be okay and I'm not hurting them

Hi,
I'm new too!! The temperature is hot in my country too!! Don't panic that much about it. Although they prefer lower temperatures they can perfectly live at 24 Celsius degrees. I'm happy to help if you need anything.

Welcome to the forum! No, 24 degrees C is not safe for an axolotl. Stay around 17 to 20 celsius.

24 degrees is not at all safe, it's deadly.

Anything above 20 degrees Celsius is potentially deadly. Around 16 is a good temperature.

Have you considered investing in a chiller? Having axolotls in your country without a chiller is always going to pose some kind of issue.

I'm sorry to tell you that axolotls, as any other animal have the genetic predisposition to adapt to some harsh environments, they are very resistant creatures. Axolotls where I live are raised in high temperatures from the start, and live as long and healthy as any other axolotl.
However, is always better to keep them in lower temperatures!! Of course.
The real problem is to keep them ABOVE 24 degrees, 22-23 won´t hurt them. Believe me, my axolotls are 5 years old and happy.
