The two pink ones are so cute - the others are as well :) no favourites!

I'm up to 6 now & 2 more getting picked up on Friday :) (squishy has 2 siblings who haven't found homes yet & the lady who bred them called to say they need then gone by Friday as they're moving overseas) So it'll be a full house very soon! Thank goodness for the 6ft tank!

We are officially an axolotl haven
& certifiable axie addicts :D

Not at all! In fact I'll gladly vouch for the health of these little ones & all the ones left behind were divine :)

The drive out to Mt Tomah is just as beautiful as always - so anyone wanting an axolotl could make a nice lunch drive out of it & stop in for lunch in kurrajong or bilpin pop in & see the botanical gardens before picking up your new lotl
- just remember to wind down the windows & turn the radio down as you climb bellbird hill - hearing so many bellbirds is a rare & beautiful experience - so very zen :D (just watch out for
that sneaky speed camera! )
An amazing drive - gorgeous area!

There you go - I'll gladly spruik for you EbonySparkles :) you should start a thread listing your little ones for sale to new homes & post pics of mum & dad as well as the little ones - they're all so gorgeous!

These additions make it 6 lotls... :)

I'm picking up another one or two on Saturday morning - they're Squishy's siblings & hopefully similar sized to Splat & Squishy - but they'll be in their own tank (Quarantined till 6'ft tank up and running)

They really are a total cuteness overload :D - especially the angelic face of Sputnik (I just hope Sputnik is a girl!)

Is it even legal to be so cute? ;)

:D

It should be compulsory for every household to have an axolotl face to wake up to - there'd be far less grumpy people if they saw those smiles everyday ;)

They are too cute!

Today I picked up Sunbeam & to save setting up yet another tank I merged the 4 little ones & they are all happily hanging out in their hides - the tank mates seem to be segregated with the dark ones at the front & the girls at the back :) so silly & so cute!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
