Ok, I know cohabbing is almost always an absolutely horrible idea for herps and especially amphibians, but I recently went to a nearby zoo and saw a matamata being cohabbed with an emerald tree boa. It worked because they occupied completely different habitats and never interacted, so I was wondering, could the same work for amphibians?
I was thinking of cohabitating a fully aquatic newt of some sort with a highly arboreal tree frog. Would this work, or would they end up infringing on each other's space? Would toxins be an issue? If it could work, do you have any ideas for specific species? I don't actually plan on setting this up anytime soon, this is just more of an idea I had for a possible future setup. Thanks!
