So I was at my girlfriends house the other day and we found a newt in the back garden :D (she lives near a pond). I believe it is a palmate newt however im not 100% sure, I do know he is male though. It hasnt eaten in a day or two, though I believe that to be from its recent change of scenery into the aquarium.

Anyone who could help with classification or ditery requirements would be most helpful.

Thanks,

Mmmm...i´d say it´s a female smooth newt hehehe. From the coloration it is definitely not a mature male, so it´s either a female smooth, or palmate newt.
