Newt Metamorphosis - Help!!!

I am new to raising newts - I bought two firebelly salamanders and about a month later they were laying eggs. That is how I found this site and it has really been helpful but right now I have a problem. My newts have just metamorphed and one of them was able to escape from the aquarium. I found him almost dried up on the ground and thought he died but then I saw him move around a bit - he is still not quite active (only been a few hours). I have seperated him from the others but was wondering if there is anything I should do.

Also, can I incorporate them now with the adults? If not when is a good time.

Thanks

Put the partially dried up juvie in very shallow water, like a mm so that he can regain body fluids. Don't put juvies with adults. You can keep the juvies in a terrestrial setup (as in nature), or force them to be aquatic, by putting them in shallow water with lots of plants so they can avoid drowining.

The main reason to keep the morphs separate from the adults is that they prefer different setups. The young will naturally be inclined to stay on land. In the adult setup, they will probably just form a "huddled mass" on top of the island. At around 1 year of age they will be willing to go into deep water, and it may be possible to keep them with the adults at that point, if you want to. There is also the possibility that the adults could eat them.
