Hey guys.  Just got the new BACKPACKER magazine and there was a blurb in there about the "newt migration" in Tilden Regional Park.  It was in their section on West Coast "Rip and Go" must see hiking trips.  It's actually a nice little paragraph, and I think I might take this hike around December.
 
 
It's basically right behind Cal! Another place I love to go! GO BEARS! Ahem...anyways....
 
I believe the newts in question are California Newts. The article says "orange-bellied newts". The picture is definately a California Newt though.
