I have two juvenile danube crested newts. I am currently on a week long vacation, and have left them in the care of my siblings. Before I left, they were very good eaters, they would be out every night and accept cut up earthworms with no problem. Now, my siblings have told me they can’t find them and the worms they leave in there are never eaten in the morning. Any advice? There is no way the newts could escape. I am a bit worried about them, could newts go without eating for 6 days? I’m still having my siblings try to feed them every night so they have access to food.

If your newts were healthy before you left, which it sound like they are, going for a week without food is no issue. Enjoy your vacation.

Thank you. This is my first time owning newts so I tend to overthink about every bad possibility haha
