Hi, I performed Axl's (I know, not the most original name!) weekly water change on Saturday (today is Wednesday) and discovered that his filter had an air lock so hadn't been on at all for a week. Axl has been refusing food for the last week and looks slightly bloated, above his back legs and a bit around his head. I thought he was constipated until I discovered that the filter hadn't been working. I checked his water parameters after changing 30% of the water on Saturday and his nitrate was slightly high. I changed 50% of the water on Monday (2 days ago) his parameters are perfect but he hasn't moved since, he's sitting in the corner, looking sad and slightly bloated. I'm keeping the water nice and cool and leaving the light off so he can relax and hopefully recover. I'm so worried about him and don't know what to do. My local reptile shop said that fridging or tubbing would probably stress him out and wasn't necessary as the water in his tank is safe now. I'm not sure how old he is, I bought him as a small juvenile a year ago. He lifted his head up to look at me a moment ago and hasn't been floating. Do you think I should just leave him alone to get better or should I take more drastic action?
