I had a clutch of axalotle eggs that all hatched, and after sbout 4 days one by one they died. At the time i first joined this forum, i was not sure what i had sone wrong, I have since found out, the culprit could have been live food that i bought and i was not fresh, seemily food that is not fresh can cause a bacteria in the water, if this is the case i am not too happy at the shop that sold me the food as he claimed to has raised hundreds of baby axalotls, and he knew i was buying the food to feed the new hatchlings.

Can anybody tell me if my research is right, if not back to the drawing board.

There are lots of possible causes, besides the food. Even if the food was healthy, it could have been an issue with water quality or food adhering to the surface of the tank and rotting. See:

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
