For the few folks here who are interested in this sort of thing...:D

Here's a shot of young black-spotted newts that I had the privilege of raising up while I worked at the Ft. Worth Zoo.

Wow wicked! Its such a shame these awesome newts are in trouble. Good luck with raising them (if you still are) to adults!
 
They were right around an inch long in that photo (that was Fall 2005). Probably not too outlandish a claim to say they're perhaps the only photos of meridionalis efts any of us will be seeing anytime soon.
