Hey Everyone so im thinking of getting Axolotl pellets only thing is here in Canada you cant find anyone who sells pellets specialized for axolotl( or at least i haven't found anyone) ,carnivores yes axolotls no. yes i know that axolotls can carnivore pellets since axolotls are carnivores. my question is if im able to get pellets costume made by nutritional value what would be the nutritional value that i would want to get or at least come close to to be able to, say they are safe for axolotls?

You might be able to get Salamander Bites, which is the brand I've used for my juvie. I've found them to be very nutritious. They made my juvie grow very well, and very quickly too.

So I'd say, that at least with this brand, they're reasonably nutritious.

Usually when people say "axolotl pellets" they are refering to soft-moist salmon pellets made by Rangen, Inc. They are vitamin and mineral fortified, fishmeal-based sinking pellets, 1/8" (3 mm) in diameter. These are also the pellets used by the Axolotl Colony located at the University of Kentucky. (source)

You can purchase 50lb bags direct from the manufacturer (which is more than you will probably ever use) or purchase them in smaller quantities at Ed's Fly Meat.

I buy the stuff from eds fly.meat! Stanley loves it

I just checked out the flymeat.com pellets you recommended, the biggest bag i see is the 5 pound bag for $25. For these products where can i find the nutritional value? Im able to get the pellets for dirt cheap with free delivery which is why im interested in it. Would it be best to match the nutritional value of a earth worm now that i think about it?

I don't know the value, I suppose you could send eds fly meat a email and ask for it! But my axolotl is 9 months old and has been fed eds fly meat axolotl pellets and occasional worms and he has grown so fast so healthy. He's 9 inches now and never had a health problem. So I can vouch for it:) also, I got two pounds of it 6 months ago and there's barely a dent in it. So they last a long time too.

I buy my axie pellets on ebay! They are called JBL Novo Lotl they are $12 for a bottle.

What would be a good rule for feeding pellets? Feed your Axolotls as much as they can consume every 2-3 days? Every 2 days? Every day?

Anyone have a good Pellet feeding rule?

How often depends on the age of the axolotl. How much is basically the same rule as feeding fish - as much as they will eat in a few minutes.

This is another source for the Rangen pellets in smaller quantities. Large 5mm in 1/2 pund quantity for $5.00 and $9.00 shipping.

Food

Hope that helps:p
