Hey! One week ago I discovered that the tank water surface was rather oily. I didn´t make much about it exept a small water change. Now, when im home from school an are about to feed my little baby the water surface has a thick layer on it whit a kinda rainbow-covered-thingy-surface when you look under it. I also noticed that oxygen bubbles from for example the plants gets stuck underneath it. Will this diseapear or should I do something about it?

That sounds like a protein skin.

The water movement on the surface would usually dissapate this - but I'm assuming you don't use a bubbler?

I would use a bubbler, or use a spray bar on your filter from now on - it helps.

In the meantime, lay a sheet of plain, unbleached kitchen towel on the surface, then remove.

Also, make sure any waste is promptly removed, such as poop and leftover food.

It's pretty common, don't worry.

By the way - a filter can really help out with this!

Im going to plug in the bubbler now

Let´s hope it goes away!

:D Good luck with it.
Your 'Lotl will enjoy the bubbles - they're fun to bite.
