One of my older females Spanish ribbed newts (over 10 years) has been very sick, doesn’t eat and is going to loose a leg. I don’t want her to suffer and she has been going downhill for a year. It’s the worst she has ever been. Should I put her down?

Also do albinos live shorter lives then the normal ones? Because she is albino and my other 10 year old looks just as good and my younger ones

she is in a lot of pain right now. Should I put her down?

She is trying to take her leg off and is in a lot of pain.

Update we are going to euthanize her. First we are fridging her for a day to calm and slow her down. Then we will put her in the deep freez and it should only take a few minutes.

i’m so sorry this happened to you ;(

she had a good long life but has had a rough go this past year. It’s best this way and it will feel like going to sleep.
