Ommatotriton Vittatus Vittatus

I can't found any info about them, about housing and especially their resistance to hot temperature.
The only info that i have is that they looks like the ommatotriton ophryticus and they live in israel, lebanon and syria (very hot country) and i don't know how they can resist there ( for example ophryticus need very cold temperature).

its impossible have temperature lower than 12C in this place, and on december there is 21C.

Well there was a population of these guys that lived in the very northwestern corner of Jordan that is long extinct, but just a guess, they probably hide underneath rocks and logs and burrow to where it's cooler, and come out in the rain to breed. But just my two cents

There was a paper in Salamandra about their habitat in Syria:

Most of the localities were at rather high altitude, and water temperatures averaged 11.4C at the time they were found.

From what I've heard, their care in captivity is very similar to O. ophryticus.

is taken when they are out of water with a temperature of 32C on day and 24C on night (since the photographer use the flash its obvius night).

9 January they are in water (in the breeding phase, photo on daylight) when the minimum temperature is 12.9C

reading all the data its simple impossible that it need 4C hibernation like the ommatotriton ophryticus for the reproduction but i want some aswers from who has this O. V. Vittatus in a terrarium or aquarium or whatever, and if someone test their resistance to hot.

Thanks for the info, but all the photo that i post are from israel, more southern and warmer than syria

Aquarium/terrarium: These newts have to be kept in a terrarium during the terrestrial phase (summer) and in an aquarium during the reproductive season. Cannot be kept aquatic year round. Air temperatures 10-25 C while on land, water temperatures of 10-15 C required during aquatic/reproductive phase.

Thanks Methos5k, the temperature of 10-15 C its the same found in Syrian high altitude (thank you Caleb for the info).
I still hope they can withstand hight temperature in water (lower than 24C) but 10-15 its still better than the 4C for ophryticus on winter.
About the Aquarium\terrarium i think that with the right temperature they prefer the aquarium (there are people that have T. marmoratus, N. kaiseri and ommatotriton in aquarium all year round).

This year (and the next) there is terraristika hamm in germany, its the biggest reptile and amphibian fair of europe and for what i know there are very rare newt (neurergus in primis); since im also searching ommatotriton (especially vittatus vittatus) i want to know if there is in Hamm someone who sell the O.v. vittatus or someone in this forum (or whatever in europe).
The only shop that i have found are in turkey but they all sell ophryticus not v. vittatus (in turkey its more easy found in a shop a ophryticus then a cynops orientalis!).
Someone know if in lebanon or israel there are breeder that sell them? or even in europe?
