One egg

well their was a sperm "packet" almost a week ago, then this morn looks like thier is one newt egg? could it be an egg? and if it is why only one (chinese firebelly)

Sometimes they lay one or two at a time. It could certainly be just one egg, or it could be that there are more, just well hidden.

Their are only two eggs, so I'm supposing that I will only have 2 baby newts?

Yes. But they may lay some more. Keep looking.
