Hi I've had my axolotls for 8 years since they were babies. My female has become very thin but the male extremely rotund. The female is eating but I'm not sure what to do. She looks painfully thin and he looks extremely large. He has also recently lost an arm. Not sure if it was from a bite but turn white and has fallen off tonight.
Any ideas why she is so thin and he is so large?
Any suggestions appreciated

It may be that your male is eating a majority of the food. Do you watch them at feeding time? Perhaps putting a divider in the tank will help with such a problem, and you won't have to worry about axolotl babies in the future:D

I'm new to this forum, and to axolotls in general, so hopefully one of the more experience axolotl owners will reply.
