Our axolotl is dead!!!

Axel our wildtype axie passed away last night.He had been sick for over a week now and I hoped that he would recover by himself.But no.He stopped eating because it all came up again like his stomack was full.We have changed to sand for over 3,5 months ago. And he had pooed normal all the time until now.We had smaller gravel before, and in the pet shop they got smaller gravel to so maybe he could have eaten some larger gravel there.He has been acting very strange to like floating up to the surface and gasped for air. And he took no notice of us or of our other axie Maja who is in the tank to.We gave him a tummy rub but it didn't work.And his cloaca was very swollen all the time.We put him in the fridge the last hours but it was too late.When I looked at him he was lying at his side and he died short after that!!I saw some blood come out of his mouth too. Our other axie is fine but she miss Axel and have stayed in her cave all day!!Poor little Axel!!We all miss him so much.

Marianne, I'm sorry for your loss. Take comfort in knowing Axel is no longer suffering. He's in a better place, that big fishbowl in the sky, with plenty of worms and nice, dark caves.

Im sorry Marianne i know how you feel and how axel feels too. When squidy lost mala he didnt come out of his cave for 1 week or so, i had to stick my hand in the cave to feed him
