Hi,
I live in Helsinki and I'm planning to create some outdoor tanks.
Temperature are from 0 to -20C (32 to -4) during 4 or 5 month.
I will try to find for one of those tank some Salamandrella keyserlingii.
Did some of you have some experience in similar conditions?
Do you know any other species how could take such cold weather?

Reggards

Hey Tarmo, I think nobody is keeping Salamandrella keyserlingii. Much less those from the americas. In what i learned from the hobby Salamandrella keyserlingii are the only dudes that can support freezing up to minus 40 degrees celcius so I would guess that not the problem. The real problem is were to find this amphibian available.

Hope I have helped you.
Cheers,

Thanks for your answer Cristiano! :D
Some Russians are keeping and reproducing Salamandrella keyserlingii. And its capacity to survive to very low temperature is the reason why I look for those. ;)
I'm thinking now to create an enclosure with a warming system that the temperature stays over 0 for some north american or european species...
I 'll keep you in touch.
