I have a pair of Kweichow Newts. They are completely terrestrial. The summer here is way too hot for them but I think it would be great if I could put them outside for a few months in winter - November - February when the temperature is in the 70s or below. All I have is a fenced in concrete patio with not a whole lot of shade. We have predators - squirrels, raccoons, stray cats, that could get to it so it must be a secure enclosure. I am not too much of a handyman type so I was wondering if there was anything in the market I could buy.

My newts have a 20 gallon tank with a soil/coco bark substrata and live plants. They mostly like to stay under the large water dish although I am sure they come out at night. I suppose its coolest under there, even though the temp stays around 70. Ideas?

Your average exoterra-type vivarium with a sliding furniture lock might work, but a persistent racoon might be able to dislodge the lock...or that's what I'd personally do anyway :p
