P. Ruber are being sold on kingsnake for 70 bones.

Is it true with that species in that they have to stay in water below lower 60's. I heard they're from
mountain spring water that stays pretty cool.
 
these have been fine in the lower 60 range -yes, i havent tried them higher since the a/c is set at 60-but it did get up to almost 80 one day when i left the windows open and shut off the a/c after a rainstorm and the outside temp went higher than i expected before night fall. i almost exclusively keep the place at 60-65 -the only time i vary from this is in winter when i turn off the a/c and open the windows -i dont shut them unless it stays 20 f for a while - they did that this winter so i was hoping they would be trigger to breed -like i said they have the eggs there...just not the will....
 
I've kept them for up to 5 years on unbleached paper towels with a yearly temperature range between 65 F and 72 F
I think Ed Maruska has kept then on paper towels for a significantly longer period of time.
