Hi I am planning a pacman frog later this week and I had a few last minute questions.P.S. He/she is around the size of a golfball.

1.How often do I feed him/her crickets?

2.How much crickets do I feed?

3.What tempertures do I keep him at?

4.How long should he/she be in quaratine?

5.Would a ten gallon tank be ok for him/her for life?

6.Should he/she have a waterbowl?

Any help would be appriciated.

I would feed every other day and sometimes every 2 days. Mix the routine up some what. I would feed crickets and roaches as the staple diet dusted every other feeding. A 10 gallon will be fine for life. offer a heat pad with a deep enough substrate level so the frog chooses it prefered temp. Use a large, not deep water bowl. I think temps should be 78-82F day time and 74-76F night time.

Feed it as many crickets as it will eat in one sitting. Feed a couple times per week. Need to feed less often with bigger meals, like roaches or pinky mice.

Minimum quarantine time is three months. 10g would be fine for life. And yes, a shallow water bowl is recommended for most if not all frogs. This way you do not need to keep the the rest of the tank saturated, as that will lead to mold. Moist but not too damp substrate, and a water bowl so the frog can choose to get wet.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
