Pesky Blood worms

I went wild today and decided to check my filter out, I have a Fluval2 that sits in the water. When I opened it up I discovered a colony of blood worms living happily inside.I rinsed the filter pads lightly to remove the bits of plant etc in the tank water from the 20% water change...but couldn't remove the little critters. I am not overly concerned that they are there, but is there any problems regarding them being in the filter?

The blackworms themselves are not a problem - they're busily converting organic wastes into live food for you .

pity you couldn't remove them, I'm sure your axies would enjoy them!

they go for an occasional swim and the lotties go cross eyed trying to look at them!
