I'm working on a tank build (3d background), I posted about it a few months ago. I've taken a lot of consideration into the design of it because of the input I got.

I've searched for hours on-line for photos on the CFBN natural habitat. I would really like to copy it the best I can or make at least resemble it. Can anyone supply me with this information/photos?

Also in the way of tank builds, should I be concerned about plant roots digging through my 'rock scape'? Should I take precautions? Has anyone even run into this problem?

I'm taking a mixed approach and am going to be using (pink foam- polystyrene) quickcrete and silicone (which I'm having a hard time finding 100% silicone in stores. (maybe great stuff) I heard great stuff shrinks after time.

Also is there really a difference between silicone adhesive and silicone sealant? because i need it for both purposes, one to stick the foam to the glass and secondly to seal the edges (or will the concrete do that safely and effectively enough that i don't need to worry about that step?)

I have so many questions but these are, at the moment, the most important.

Photos of C. orientalis natural habitat are really difficult to come by! I've been trying for years to get such a photo.

I'm a little concerned about your using Quickcrete. Any kind of cement is likely to affect the pH of the water in the tank.

No, there is no difference between silicone sealant and adhesive, but it's important to get a product that is aquarium-safe.

Thanks for responding!

I heard thay about the concrete and ph but it seems that if you fill and empty it about a million times you can make it stable . i'm using the stuff from all glass aquarium. And im going to order some big tubes from fosters.

Do you have any other suggestions for sealing it? Instead of concreate

When I go to china next time I'm going to make it my mission!
