Thank you! We have two, this is Jarvis

And we're feeding mainly bloodworms and ox heart just as a bit of a treat.

Consider switching to earthworms, as neither of those food items contain any calcium.

We only picked up our lotls yesterday, and bloodworms were all the store we got them from supplied in store, and I work with animals so brought some heart home for them for the time being. We are trying to find somewhere we trust to get earth worms from though. Thanks for your advice!

Haha he does! Jarvis smiles more than Archie. And I think we're going to use up the food we have first seeing as they seem to like it, but Yorkshire Worms are more local to us so we'll most likely use them! :)

I think Archimedes is the cutest, even if he is less smiley...:)

Haha thanks, I completely agree :p (technically Archimedes is mine and Jarvis is my boyfriends)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
