Yesterday I was very sick, but still took care of Smoki, Mochi, and Toothless. When I went to bed (around 12am-1am ish) I checked their water it was at 59-60°, cleaned it out, and check their temperature again and stayed at the same temperature. I wake up next thing you know their were a ton of air bubbles, the water was at 76° and had TWO of the three Axolotls(Mochi and Toothless) swimming on their side. Immediately, I stopped what I was doing and immediately dropped their temperature back down to 58-59° and put both Axolotls in a separate container filled enough where they can stand on all fours(Read some information on this website). My best guess is that they have too much gas as they were gulping for air. Please help! I feel terrible! One of them pooped and it starting to sit upright again. I have to leave today for a few hours so I'm going to have my dad keep an eye on them and give me updates. If its anything else he says he will watch for anything and If he suspects gout or some type of illness he says he will take them and give them antibiotics (Since he's grown up with tons of aquatic animals and currently has them and has the antibiotics) Please help! 😭 I almost took them with me so I can watch them but didn't.

EDIT: I've also dropped the temperatures in my house way down so that way their water stays where it is at

EDIT 2: I think it's gas because when I moved then out of the tank and dropped temps to 58° one pooped again and is sitting more up straight now.

apart from keeping them cool in shallow water there isn't much else to be done as it is now a case of waiting for them to expel the air.

Okay i just got home. Temps stayed at 59° all day. They look fine and are swimming around in the containers just fine. Mochi (the yellow glow one) is lethargic however. Toothless(First pic) is a little paler than she/he usually is, But still roaming around and active. I am going to change the water though because they pooped a lot.

UPDATE/EDIT: I cleaned out each container and I put them together while doing so as I switched the water out. Mochi was very lethargic when I got home and is now very active. Toothless' colors came back when I put the two together and then slightly disappeared when I separated them once more into their separate containers. Toothless is also very active. Should I feed them or do I wait until tomorrow? I fed the male about 10 minutes ago since he never got this problem. I also filled up the containers just a little bit to see where they're at and Toothless can completely float upright without flip flopping and tilting around, however, Mochi is still slightly tipped so dropped the waters back down to the original level. Still keeping them in the containers and going to be watching them through the night.

UPDATE 2: I watched them the entire night (Don't worry, I got a lot of sleep), the gas did pass last night for mochi but Toothless didn't completely pass gas until the morning. While I was watching last night and checking the temperatures I was absolutely shocked at Toothless. I don't know if it was because the water quality and temperature was just fenomenal, but she flared up her colors on her gills they were a light maroon color, and they looked really good and fluffy (so did Mochis), and the coloring on her body was still light, but there was that maroon/dark pink coloring. Now I can't tell what morph she is going to be. I think she is going a be a melanoid of some sort. But she was absolutely gorgeous. Ill have to take a picture when I get the chance to.
