Can someone tell me what this gell looking thing is next to my axie? I have found a few of these around tank when cleaning but didn't think it was a spermaphore. This is my female in the picture. Thanks
I had a similar thing with my female last year & I also thought it was unfertilised eggs. She also went off her food for a couple of weeks at the same time.

Thank you for reply! My female, Koda, had spawned about a month ago about 100 eggs. I separated her from male about a week ago. Have seen these for a couple of days after seperation. Am continuing to monitor. She is eating but looks like depressed since separated.
Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
