It looks like the gills are doing a tiny bit better. The tiny white dots you can see on my wildtypes are gone or less visible.
There are also no visible parasites when you search for them under a microscope. Not even anything else that moves.
They still eat their pellets and worms. I also did some salt baths, just in case.
The thing is that my axies are still behaving normally. No scratching or stressed behavior.
I guess that's good?

it almost looks to me like the growth on the skin could be a fungus. have you tried putting them in the refrigerator?? And do salt baths in conjunction with that?

Id defiantly fridge them to slow down any process......
But I think the 2 darker axolotls look like they are morphing to me
If you do fridge them remember to have spare bottles of treated water in the fridge for water changes.

The temperature is 19C. I've had earlier problems with axies in the fridge. They just ended up much worse with fungus all over. And I did the same what people told me. So I don't really trust the fridge. Evil thing.

YES, the gills are getting more fluffy now. Maybe because I added some plants to the tank.
Xotls gills are still a little small but I think they'll stay that way because he's just an ugly lotl.
Goo on the skin is still there.

At this point it may be worth taking them to a vet. If you've exhausted all the home remedies, you may need some professional help.

I was having problems using the water treatments as well, but when I was at my favorite fish store, where I got my first axie, they recommended changing to spring water and it has made a HUGE difference in my tank. I don't have to use the dechlorinator at all, and they seem a lot more active as well...hope your axie's get better!
