Please Identify

Does anyone know what this is growing in my wifes old Betta bowl. She says I can have it but I want to make sure its safe for my Newts.

Peace Lily is great for 2 reasons. 1. it cannot be destroyed by any creature other than my wife, and 2. it grows so fast it removes a significant amount of nutrients from the water making water changes less of a chore.
