Plethodontid soil help

Hello all I have two red salamanders and a pauladarium setup with a plexiglass divider in the middle of it and I was wondering does anybody have any tips for a bioactive soil mix I really need help and they love to burrow so if anybody has any tips or tricks to get it like mud kind of you know like when you're out herping and you see all of those intricate hole systems

But I was thinking of using repti soil

I believe repti-soil would work well. I don't know if it would hold the moisture required but it is definitely worth a try.
