Hi there, so I'm very new to axolotl keeping and I have two currently. My one axolotl has white fluffy filaments on his gills and I'm wondering if this is fungus, if so how to proceed (tea baths, ect).
His tank mate is completely fine, they both have an appetite still and are swimming around normally.
He is not scratching at this stuff either... I currently have a handful of Indian almond leaves in the tank

the easiest way to remove and prevent fungus is to increase the tank water salinity ie.. 2g/l salt, also read about using holtfreters and water conditions that are required by axolotls, info here.. Axolotls - Requirements & Water Conditions in Captivity
I have some aquarium salt that recommends 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons, I have a 30 gallon tank. Should I add this to my tank for now? Looking into making some holtfreters solution

salt can be a bit awkward to convert mass to weight, most aquarium salt is course so one metric tablespoon (5ml) of salt is 12g, 30 gallon is 136 litres, 22.5 teaspoons are required to bring the salt level to 2g/l.
