Is it legal to keep these salamanders in Maryland? I am looking to get some and I don't want to keep illegal salamanders.

You are allowed to keep up to 4.

Captive Reptile & Amphibian Permit/License- Wildlife and Heritage Service - Maryland Department of Natural Resources (Look under "When Don't You Need A Permit", then under "List A" and you'll see.)

It says that I am allowed to keep 4 Northern Red Salamanders. I am allowed to keep a subspecies of the Red Salamander? Do you know anyone who is selling them right now, other than the Northern Red Salamander? Thanks
