What type of submersible pumps work well in paludariums? I am planning on having a land and water area with a waterfall and a stream. I need a pump I that will be able to pump water about 20 inches up and still has some umph in it after the water fall. Any suggestions?

What is the actual vertical distance upward? Just the upward rise, ignoring the horizontal distance?

When shopping for pumps, try to compare the wattage, if possible. Wattage is directly related to heat output, which you want to minimize.

You can get adjustable pumps which allow you to adjust the flow rate, I would suggest getting one of them, then you can adjust it to your needs. Most aquatic shops stock these.
The waterfall in theory should be powered by gravity.

The waterfall is going to be about 15 in. high and the pump will have to pump water horizontally about 10-15 in. Thanks for your replies.
