Query in feeding my cfb newt

I know this has come up many many times on these threads about feeding. I just want to be double sure. You see me chinese fire belly newt, i feed him on bloodworm (live) about 5-7 mixed size worms, sometimes a couple more. I feed him every day and he gobbles them all happily, and if one wriggles away, he wont be happy til he has caught it (and he always does). But i'm worried if im feeding him to often?

He's about 2.5 inches in lengh including the tail. He's got bigger in weight since i got him, but in a good way. I'm not sure how old he is either. Lots of places ive read says feed 2-3 days but he's happy with an everyday feed. Infact, he rattles the stones each day and looks at me to feed him.He is very active and curious about everything. I just don't want him to get fat. Any advice?

How long have you had him? He's likely to still be growing and thus enjoys the ample food that comes with captivity. Don't be surprised if his appetite decreases at some point when he grows up and fills out a bit more. For now, there's no harm feeding him daily.

ive had him for about two weeks.the shop i got him from, got him from a local breeder (which is good), but i don't think the shop knew how to look after newts very well. he seemed very hungry when i first got him home, the shop gave their newts no land area either. the guy in charge even admited to me he wasnt sure how to care for them. he started eating the first day i got him home.

charlie is getting bigger though. his body is wider and tail seems longer already. i just dont want to overfeed him by accident. i am getting another on saturday from my cousin. she wanted me to take it off her hands. she didnt know how to care for newts. you see, i had axotols when i was young, but i had to give them away when we moved house. now i live alone, ive kind of gone back to it. but chose chinese fire bellies instead. i just need a bit of touching up.
