Hi there I'm a doing all this for the first time. my axolotl has laid eggs iv moved them into a separate tank they are growing well and look like they are about to hatch! my concern is how to take care of them from this stage any help would be great thanks

You'll need lots of small live food. If you don't have a source of Daphnia or similar you'll need to do something like hatch brine shrimp eggs. Baby brine shrimp are a great food for little larvae but they die rapidly in fresh water and tank the water quality so doing 100% water changes every day will be required.

The eggs will take about 2 weeks before hatching.
They won't eat as soon as they hatch because they still live on their yolk sac.
So you have a bit of time to prepare future tiny live preys.

thanks guys also when they have hatched etc do they need an air pump or filter or anything?

I suppose different people use different systems with success.

My system :
I don't use any filter or air pump but I begin to raise them in shallow water (an inch deep or less) in my basement (fresh temperatures), with light and live aquatic plants.
I generally feed them with wild-caught freshwater live preys like small daphnias.

If I must give them brine shrimps, which die in freswater within a few hours, then I have to make daily water changes to avoid pollution.

I put in a lot of daphnia in the Axis containers to start breeding now already. The Axis catch the smaller daphnia while the bigger ones breed on to make more food. This way the baby Axis always have food.
Remember to feed the daphnia (Spirilina powder or old fish water works best.) Brine shrimp works well but they die so soon and it becomes a mission when the water becomes salty and stresses the babies.
