Rear end floating could be caused by impaction, digestive or gas problems. Before when I kept my larva in a container with water that is about 72-74 degrees, their rear end started floating. I tried to solve this by feeding them smaller and less foods (did not work) or by fridging them which works temporary.

Solution: Recently I put my larva in a 10 gallon that has a fan over it. The temperature stays at around 65 degrees. The larva hasn't been floating ever since. So it isn't the food that is the problem it was the temperature.
